Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A gang of intrepid cyclists from Little Ilford School are braving the January weather and south downs cols, to cycle from London to Brighton. This is in memory of a much loved colleague and friend, Alistair Banks. Sadly he passed away recently after suffering from Motor Neuron Disease. Alistair was for many years, an inspiration to the students and staff in the schools he taught in.

Alistair was a keen cyclist and had cycled this route to raise money before his illness. He was an excellent drummer, making an amazing album called Alistair the Optimist. His tireless fundraising for MNDA saw him 'Float to the Coast' with a bunch of crazy cyclists and a milk float! He then became the poster boy for the charity appearing on billboards all over the country, meeting politicians and appearing on TV to raise awareness of this cruel disease.  He leaves a wonderful wife and 2 young children.
