I am originally from the North East of England and had an enrty to the first Great North but was unable to do it due to injury. It has always been in the back of my mind to go and do it some day. Watching the race a couple of years ago I joked with my daughter Rebecca, that we should do it. She said she would but at the time was too young to do it. I have worked for the Outward Bound Trust in Aberdovey for a number of years and the Trust this year got some places in the Great North Run so this was then a great way to raise some money for the Trust and to do the run together.

The money raised will go into the Trust's bursary fund to help those who cannot afford it, the chance to come on a course at one of the Trust's centres.
