Story
Delivered by The Countryside Alliance Foundation, Fishing for Schools is one of the few projects which goes into schools to help disadvantaged children develop their confidence, education and skills through fishing.
Now in its fourteenth year, Fishing for Schools has reached over 3000 young people across England and Wales, supporting young people who struggle to learn in the classroom.
Fishing for Schools makes a positive difference to the lives of young people by:
- Helping young people re-engage and to enjoy learning.
- Increasing confidence and motivation; providing a sense of achievement, success and self-worth.
- Young people learn vital life skills including team building, leadership, and problem solving.
- Providing wellbeing benefits through participation in fishing and being outdoors.
Fishing for Schools is offered at no cost to schools and relies on the generosity of its friends and supporters to fund its work with young people. Every gift, however large or small, makes a difference.
