Last training run finished (8.5 miles in 1hr 5mins) so just rest, lots of carbs and no booze until Sunday afternoon!

Ok so final week, last double figure run yesterday and a 8/9 mile run mid week. Then it's the small matter of 26.2 miles on Sunday in under 4 hours, feeling confident but still a little apprehensive as last time all I needed to do was finish and this time I need a time. A massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far but for those who still want to you have another 6 days left! ;-) Cheers Nick

Good morning Here is my weekly marathon update. I have not had any more sponsorship during the 2 weeks (current total is £1314 - including DB matching), so still just under £500 to go but I need to keep pushing on to reach my target of £1,800 The last week has seen some speed training on my midweek run (8.5 miles) knocking another 3.5 mins off my personal best (new pb is now 1hr 3 mins 40 secs). Also I have upped the distance on the weekend with a 15 mile run (2hrs and 5 mins) on Saturday morning in the cold and rain which was….character building! I’m still moving in the right direction both in terms of pace and distance but with less than 5 weeks to go until the marathon the training is certainly getting harder and my feet are beginning to feel the strain! As before, thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far and for those of you who haven’t, if you can then any donations would be gratefully received. http://www.justgiving.com/Nick-Linney Thanks Nick

I ran the Roding Valley half marathon yesterday and posted a time of 1hr 48mins 32secs which is 8.5 mins quicker than I ran 2 years ago. On track for sub 4hr marathon time but still need to train hard. I am doing well on my sponsorship but not at my target yet so any donations will be great fully received.

I went for a half marathon distance run yesterday at 8.30am and clocked an impressive 1hr 46mins. So target under 4hrs for the marathon is still on!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Firstly I must be mad to do another marathon but I think as time goes by I have forgotton about the pain! ;o)

I am running again for a few reasons;

1) I guess I just enjoy running and have got the bug again

2) Unless I sign up to an event then I won't run / exercise

3) I have unfinished goal from the last time so I will be aiming for a time of under 4 hrs

4) It is an opportunity to raise money for a fantastic charity "Scope"

I was fortunate enough to raise over £3,000 when I ran the marathon in 2010 through the generousity of my family, friends and work colleagues. So I am hoping that enough time has past for people to dig deep again and help me achieve my fundraising target.

Thank you in advance for your support.
