Yorkshire Warrior - The Ultimate Obsticle Run · 30 April 2016
Dear Friends and Family,
Meet Rosie Ford.
Rosie is 6. In December she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Sometime soon, Rosie is currently waiting on a bone marrow transplant. She is responding really well to her treatment and rarely stops smiling! You can imagine how hard is for her but also Lisa, her Mother and her sister Holly.
Despite all the needles, injections, iv lines, operations, medication, the infections, the fevers, the sickness, the endless days spent in isolation not allowed outside and being separated from her sister she's not once cried, complained, moaned or let it get her down. Everyday she has a beaming smile on her face making everybody laugh the only way Rosie can
**** On 30th April 2016, I (with other friends and family) will be running the Yorkshire Warrior Obstacle 10 Mile Race to raise money for Candlelighters****.
This amazing charity is supporting Rosie and her family on this journey. The facilities, support and fun they provide on Rosie's ward at Leeds General Infirmary is just unbelievable.
So - a few of us have decided to raise some much needed cash for Candlelighters. It started off as one or two of us considering a fun run - and has ended up as a bit of a mad year of gruelling physical challenges!
Here are some of the challenges being undertaken:
- The Yorkshire Warrior
- North Lincolnshire Half Marathon
- Great North Run (Half Marathon)
- The Great Yorkshire Bike Ride
- Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge
- Gung-Ho Leeds!
Please help us give Rosie a chance and help Candlelighters with their fabulous work to smash our target and go beyond it!
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
