I had a stroke a few years ago after playing in a charity football match. After which I was unable to walk, see, swallow or feel properly. Hilariously, one of my vocal chords was also paralysed which raised my voice an octave. Luckily that was one of the first things to rectify. Although losing my singing voice has been a major loss for the world....
It took some rehab to get me back on my feet, but with help and support I managed it. I'm hoping this next brush with charitable actions doesn't end similarly.
The Stroke Association were a great source of support for my family and I thought it was about time I gave something back, so what better way than using this exercise to get fit and raise some money.
Here's the blurb from The Stroke Association....
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
So go on, don't be tight, give us your money!
