We raise awareness and funds to combat the causes of homelessness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page..

On Saturday 16th September I will be taking on the Centrepoint Nuclear Blast to raise money for the End Youth Homelessness campaign. I have two hours to do as many laps as possible of the 5k obstacle course. It’s going to be muddy, embarrassing, exhausting and all for a fantastic cause!

I am supporting The Fine & Country Foundation which is partnered with End Youth Homelessness (EYH). EYH is a national campaign, formed of nine homeless charities across the country aimed at ending homelessness for 16-25 year olds. Centrepoint is the leading charity within this and has organised the Nuclear Blast event. The money donated will go to the Safe Nights Fund. Just £25 provides a homeless young person with the first steps to getting off the streets for good; a safe place to sleep, physical and mental health checks and education/ work support.

Please donate what you can.I really appreciate your support and shall let you all know how I got on (and just how many bones I broke!)

About the charity

The Fine & Country Foundation has been created to help combat one of the largest social issues in the UK – homelessness. Last year, the Government estimated around 2,414 people sleep on the street on any one night across England, a rise of 36% over three years. Often the reasons for homelessness are misunderstood, with many blaming the individuals for poor life decisions and carelessness. The reality is: people become homeless for a whole range of complex and overlapping reasons that cannot be avoided, such as family breakdowns, mental or physical health problems or debts. Solving homelessness does not only involve putting a roof over people’s heads, it is also trying to tackle the root of the problem and asking the question: why did they became homeless in the first place? The Fine & Country Foundation is dedicated to bringing together all Fine & Country agents in over 300 locations worldwide to raise awareness of the causes of homelessness whilst supporting homeless charities.
