Story
I’m running the London Marathon for all impacted by Cancer.
I lost my Dad last May to prostate cancer. It has been a deeply sad time for our family and we’re only just coming out the other side now. On reflection, cancer actually brought Dad and I closer together and I’m grateful for those moments however hard they are to look back on now.
I’ve chosen to single out Macmillan Cancer Support because they were always there for Dad; the phone lines were a massive support for him, the compassion, patience and knowledge helped guide him through.
A big thank you needs to go out to all the people that supported Dad, from his amazing team of in house carers, local GP practice, hospital staff, paramedics and of course everyone else in-between. Dad was lucky to be cared for by so many amazing humans through his journey—you all know who you are, thank you for going above and beyond. This run is a way of saying thank you to you all.
The goal is to raise £2,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support, a UK-based charity that provides vital support to people affected by cancer.
