Story
1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer.
My dad was one of those.
I am so thankful everyday for the amazing treatment he received after his prostate cancer diagnosis, and try to never take it for granted.
If you know me well you know I love running and cycling, as did dad when he was younger. I love the challenge of pushing myself over long distance - something I definitely inherited from him!
After completing London Marathon 2021 with my then 79 year old dad after his diagnosis I decided to continue the legacy and this year am taking part in 2 challenges for Prostate Cancer UK.
In May I am cycling 100 miles from London through Essex for the RideLondon 100 event. I aim to be finished in under 6 hours which will be a huge challenge, but one I am looking forward to.
In September I shall be running Berlin Marathon, and I hope to finish in under 3 hours and 20 minutes - in order to achieve this I'll need to work hard as I will be aiming to knock 10 minutes of my current PB - a tall order given I have covid earlier in the year!
