Hi everyone. I thought i would put my running to some good use and up my game a bit and change my route from Helmshore and Haslingden and take on the Great North Run for Derian House Children's Hospice in Chorley where Amelia goes and smash my target with your generosity.

Derian have played a huge part in Amelia’s life and will continue to do so as most of our family and friends know already. Amelia is turning 11 in July and we never thought we would be here but we are and Amelia continues to prove everyone wrong with her determination for life. She lights up any room and make everyone smile with her cheeky ways. 

Derian are our second family and have been there for us from the day our lives changed forever with Amelia when Amelia became poorly and was diagnosed. The staff work so hard in providing 24 hour care for each and every child. Some of the nurses have been with Amelia straight from hospital when she was 10 months old and are now working at Derian themselves. It really is a place full of friends that have been with us on Amelia’s journey and will always be there. Without Derian we could not have done what we’ve been able to do with Amelia and watch her grow into the amazing determined cheeky little girl she is. She absolutely loves being at Derian whether she is staying there or attending hydro for swimming. They have been a great support for the rest of our family especially Amelia’s brother Jack and her sister Katie. Derian truly are one of a kind and we will do anything to help their fundraising efforts after all the help and support they continue to give Amelia and our family. Life is precious so we intend to make the most of it for Amelia and Derian help us do that. Please support them by sponsoring me for the Great North run. They provide care and respite for children with life limiting or life shortening conditions. To provide their services to the children and families of the NW of England it costs them over £5.7m per year - with less than 17% of this provided by any statutory funding. The Great North Run is one of the countries most well known and successful runs. This half marathon is a 13.1 mile journey through the city centre and surrounding areas. The route will take runners towards the River Tyne where thousands of people will cross over the famous Tyne Bridge. The streets will be packed with spectators who have come from far and wide to cheer their friends and family on!
