So I've been roped into running a half marathon in September 2020 in London. There are only a handful of people doing this particular run and social distancing rules will apply.....in that I will be at least a mile and a half behind everyone else! But I thought as I'm doing it, why not raise a few pennies for my nearest Hospital via their charity, Stars Appeal. Inspired by Sir Tom Moore, Tony Hudgell and others, I want to give a little bit back to these amazing people.
Over the last year or so I've been supporting this charity and in particular the Intensive Care Unit at Salisbury District Hospital. The money that I've previously raised will be going towards some washroom facilities within the unit, something that they don't have but need. My hope is to raise a bit more money for the Intensive Care Unit and the Hospital in general.
During the COVID crisis all NHS staff have worked tirelessly to care for the sick and save lives. They have done this in difficult and stressful conditions, sometimes without the protective equipment to keep themselves safe and often not being able to return home to see their loved ones.
I have 6 weeks to get myself fit enough to run this and could do with your support in keeping me motivated. Please, if you can spare a couple of quid to my cause I would be so very grateful.
Thank you
