In support of a Charity close to myself and my family, I will be joining my team of friends in a goal to raise money for ‘The Alexa Trust’. A charity founded by Howard, a friend of mine and father to Alexa James who, after being born prematurely, tragically lost her life far too soon. 

The aim of The Alexa Trust is to raise awareness and funding to Neonatal units and support the families and parents of those affected by the same difficulties little Alexa faced.

In honour of this charity my 3 friends and I, Steve, Cormac and Patrick have formed a team and will be attempting to break a world record for the first all male channel medley relay under CSA guidelines from Dover (Kent) to Calais (France). 

In this relay, we will endure a 21 mile multi stroke swim in a straight line, which could increase with the ever changing tide. With Patrick swimming butterfly, Steve for backstroke, Cormac for the front crawl and myself with Breaststroke. We will be repeating our strokes for an hour each, until we reach the other side. The water is a temperature of 15 degrees C, the ships are big and the channel is notorious for altering its conditions rapidly. It will be a great challenge but it is a small sacrifice we are honoured to make for the tremendous value of the Alexa Trust Charity.
