Story

I signed up for the Hadrians Wall C2C Bike Ride in 2021, as a bit of fun, perhaps even an incentive to lose some weight !! In February this year, a reason became apparent, as our plans for the year came to an abrupt halt........

Cancer doesn't happen to people like us, certainly not my loving  & caring wife, how could somebody, so kind and generous to everybody she comes into contact with, get diagnosed with this dreadful disease ? It's not fair......

These were some off my first thoughts, when Helen got diagnosed with an aggressive triple negative breast cancer. She has had to confront some of her worst nightmares on this journey, from losing her hair and being sick, being just two of these.

By the time the ride happens over the August Bank Holiday, Helen will have just finished the 24 weeks of Chemotherapy, before embarking on the next phase of her treatment. Thankfully the prognosis is all positive, in part, this is to do with the fantastic work that organisations like Cancer Research UK undertake on a daily basis..

.......so i am now using the ride to raise money for this great charity, to keep innovating solutions, to this horrible disease, and help save more lives on a daily basis.

All donations will be genuinely appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
