Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!  I will be running the London marathon in 2019 to raise funds for MeningitisNow Charity.  In 2006 I very sadly and suddenly lost my daughter Charlotte to meningitis. She was just 18 months old, but meningitis can affect people of all ages.

I will be running not just for Charlotte and Alfred, but also for everyone else who will benefit from improved immunisation, or should the unthinkable happen, require the care Meningitis Now offers to survivors or the bereaved, affected by meningitis and septicaemia.  

After affects of meningitis and septicaemia can include the well known limb loss, but also deafness, blindness, both together, memory loss, disorientation, terrible headaches, anxiety, depression, and more. Meningitis Now works to support those adults and children affected and also their families. They also fund research into immunisation.  

The last time I raised money for them in 2013 there was no widely available vaccine, but thankfully there now is (although it doesn’t cover all types of meningitis yet) so some great progress has been made, which has been mostly funded through donations exactly like yours. It’s wonderful to see so many friends (especially new NCT friends! :) ) who are now parents making sure their babies benefit from this vaccine.  I couldn’t ask for a better way to remember Charlotte.

I appreciate there are many good causes out there but this is one that means so much to me and Aimee. So please give what you can, it will all add up and go towards the great work at Meningitis Now
