Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We're aiming to raise £6000 for St Oswald's Hospice which provides palliative care for children and adults. If we succeed we will join a trek in Peru (September 2012) where we help out at a local school or health project and then get to see Machu Pichu!
I've no idea quite how I got involved in this. It seemed such a good idea at the time but the thought of trying to raise £6k is a little daunting. I thought it would be good for a bit of father-son bonding whilst raising money for a good cause but I haven't got time to bake cakes and sell them, so will be relying on bag packs, grovelling and selling myself. Just to put your minds at rest, I'm not going to ask you to contribute anything to our costs. I am going to do extra work so I can pay every last penny of travel and accomodation (a tent) costs myself - about £3k so really I'm only looking for half of that in donations and bag packs.
Suddently doesn't seem so bad. I've just checked on facebook - I've 114 friends. I've another 5 who can't use a computer for legal reasons and 27.5 relatives meaning if you all give a little bit I'll crack it. Just the price of a round of drinks £10-15? Hamish's friends will be spending most of their weekends helping him at bag packs and cake baking. If you want to help let us know.
Please help. I couldn't bear the shame of having no donations on a just giving site. It's a lot to ask and I know many of you will already contribute to good causes, but please help if you can. I'll try not to ask again.
