Story
I am taking part in the Thames Hospice Open Water Swim Challenge.
It used to love long distance swimming, but then I broke my leg, and Covid happened, and then I started being a bit more enthusiastic about the post swim cake than the actual swim 😂
So when I saw Thames Hospice are organising a charity swim I decided this was the kick I need to get back to it - it’s a charity close to my heart, at the venue where I first started open water swimming, and it’s about a month before my 50th birthday, so I’ve signed up for the 5km.
If you are able to sponsor me I would be so grateful, as I know what a difference the money will make to those patients and families who are facing the most difficult of challenges.
£7.00
could help pay for a patient on their Inpatient Unit’s meals for one day
£11.40
could pay for one of their Health Care Assistants to treat a patient in their own home for 1 hour
£22.31
could fund one hour’s physio, helping a patient remain independent for as long as possible
£37.28
could help provide the children they are helping the counselling they need, to come to terms with the loss of a parent
£62
could supply piped oxygen for inpatients in the hospice for one day
Thames Hospice are there to ensure that patients and families are cared for with the utmost compassion, dignity and respect. Money raised from this swim will make sure that Thames Hospice can continue to provide this care into the future.
