In February 2022 I will be joining Raleigh International in Costa Rica as part of their volunteering team.

Raleigh International brings together young people and communities to work on sustainable, life changing projects which alleviate poverty, increase access to education and tackle environmental issues. Last year Raleigh volunteers directly impacted the lives of thousands of people, planting 900,000 trees as well as providing accessible and safe WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene facilities for 102,622 families. 

Whilst I will be covering all of my own travel costs, I am committed to raising funds to further support the transformative work of Raleigh International. This is where my 12 Days of Christmas Costa Rica challenge comes in. The longest river in Costa Rica is the San Juan river which covers a distance of 192km. Over the first 12 days of December I have challenged myself to cover this distance through a combination of swimming, running and cycling - a personal triathlon. I will be covering an average of 16km per day every day from the 1st to the 12th of December and you will be able to hold me accountable through following regular updates on this page.
