Story
In Memory of my mum who passed away from cancer on 20th Feburary 2020, I've decided to take on the challenge of cycling 100 miles in support of Pilgrims Hospice on the 3rd of May 2020
The quality of care mum recieved from the volunteers at the Pilgrims Hospice in her final weeks was amazing. We can never thank them enough. They were always on hand to help mum with anything they could do for her.
Whilst speaking to hospice nurses during mums stay I found out that only 25% of their funding comes from the NHS. A full 75% of their funding comes from charitable donations and fundrasing. I've decided to set myself a target of raising £500 to ensure that Pilgrims Hospice can continue their good work.
If you were curious on what your sponsorship means:
- £10 could pay for a patient's meals for the day
- £20 could pay for an hour of nursing care
- £35 could pay for complementary therapies to soothe a patient's anxieties
- £100 could pay for therapy sessions to help a child cope with the loss of a loved one
Thank you so much for visiting my JustGiving page and donating to help Pilgrims deliver skilled and compassionate end-of-life care, free of charge, to thousands of people in east Kent every year.Your support is appreciated and so important, thank you.
