UPDATE 18-04-10:  Blimey - I did it !!!!  Official time 1 hour 14 minutes 5 seconds (absolutely delighted as I thought I'd ran 1hr 16 mins).  I'm going to have to improve to make the 2012 Olympics but at least I got my PB.

I'm not collecting cash as Just Giving makes administration easier and £11.98 for every £10 you donate goes to Help for Heroes (£10 + Gift Aid - Just Giving's fees).  Please remember to tick the Gift Aid box if appropriate. 

So far, I calculate I've raised over £400 if all promises made are delivered. 

Oh yeah - I wasn't last.  Not by over 5 minutes. From over 450 runners, three were slower than me and my dodgy knees. That beats my old school cross-country record where I was consistently second from last.

I'm middle-aged, overweight, balding and like socialising that is good for my soul though is more than will ever be good for my health.  As a result my slimmer friends have challenged me to complete the Hertford 10k 2010 on 18 April 2010 in a time of less than 1 hour.  I've told them to put their money where their mouths are and they have, so I will be doing it.

When it comes to running - normally I just don't do it so I now have a 6 week training period to energise my legs, which got me thinking about which charity I want you to help me to support.

Help for Heroes is specifically aimed at supporting our wounded - I've decided that I will knacker my legs for 6 weeks for you to help me to buy a new pair for one of our brave squaddies.
