Story

I spent over five year's working for this amazing charity as an events fundraiser. I know how much work goes into setting up these events, and together with my wonderful friends (who I met whilst living in Nottingham many years ago), we have decided to take the plunge to raise money to help support local patients and families with life-limiting illnesses.

The 'New Kids on the Dock' team consists of Abi Rae, Becky Cocker, Molly Fleming, Jo Kaufman and myself (Fran Fleming). Some of us sampled open water swimming together on a camping weekend last year where we jumped into a freezing cold lake in just our swimming costumes. We realised how invigorating it was, although not much swimming took place! Some of us haven't swam more than a couple of lengths for many years so we are working on technique, stamina and how to look good in a swimming cap (this one is particularly tricky!)

The 1.5k swim is taking place in Merchant Taylor's Lake on Saturday 28th May. If you spare anything to help us achieve our goal of £250 we would hugely appreciate it!
