COULD YOU DONATE THE COST OF YOUR MISSED MORNING COFFEE OR THE TANK OF FUEL YOU WONT BE NEEDING OR EVEN YOUR HOLIDAY REFUND?!
The Newcastle Development Board for Marie Curie, Newcastle are appealing to our friends and colleagues to help us support our Hospice in Elswick.
At this time of lockdown, when we’re unable to do the things we would usually we’re asking you support us in any way you can.
Donate the money you’d usually spend on your morning coffee, the tank of petrol you’re not having to fill or the night out with your friends you can’t have… it costs just £20 for an hour of nursing care and every penny you can give makes a difference to our patients locally.
As you know, Marie Curie are experiencing very challenging times both in their services and with their ongoing fundraising during the coronavirus pandemic. In light of this critical situation, I am reaching out to you on behalf of Marie Curie to ask for your help.
Every day and night, Marie Curie Nurses and frontline staff give vital support to dying people and their families, in their homes and our hospice. At this time of national emergency, when the NHS is being put under extreme strain, these crucial services are needed more than ever.
Whilst frontline teams are working day and night to meet growing need, Marie Curie needs to raise £8,587 every day, 7 days a week. Over £3.1 Million every year. Due to the ongoing situation, much of Marie Curie’s fundraising activity has ground to a halt for at least the next three months.
We are appealing to the generosity of the public to help deliver our care, which is needed now more than ever. Unlike other charities that primarily give grants, Marie Curie can’t just turn off the taps until the situation improves. They are committed to their NHS partners that they will be there to deliver care, and they’ve got to continue to be there during the coronavirus emergency.
We appreciate looking after yourself and your loved ones is your priority right now. But the need now is so urgent, that we have to ask.
Dying people and their families need Marie Curie’s help right now. Your support would help Marie Curie Nurses and hospices continue to provide frontline care at this unprecedented time of need. No one can say for sure how long it will be before our situation improves.
You can help us to make sure more people with a terminal illness in the Newcastle area get the care and support they need.
