With your generosity, we can provide extra funding to directly benefit our Haemophilia Centre patients right here in Newcastle. 

The Newcastle Haemophilia Centre is a regional centre of expertise, providing care for patients from the whole of the northern region including Tyne & Wear, Cumbria, up to Berwick upon Tweed and down to parts of North Yorkshire and North & South Tees. 

Haemophilia is a rare, life-long condition which affects the whole family medically, psychologically and socially. Effective management is complex and involves a team of specialist carers including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and social workers with access to services from orthopaedics, infectious diseases, pregnancy advice, genetics, counselling and dental services, all of whom work closely with Haemophilia Centre staff.

The relationship between the team of professionals and our patients and families is central to how we deliver our care. Our aim is to minimise the pain and physical disability that can be characteristic of haemophilia and other bleeding disorders and with effective care, the lives of patients and their families can be transformed. 

Our dedicated charitable fund helps us to buy specialist equipment, funds local research into haemophilia and other bleeding disorders, provides patient comforts and amenities and supports training and education.

Your charitable donations have already enabled us to purchase toys, books, DVDs and other comforts for our paediatric treatment room making it a fun place to visit and a less stressful experience for children. 

We have also been able to purchase specialist equipment such as our own dedicated, high-resolution ultrasound machine which rapidly provides images for our patients who are experiencing bleeds into joints, muscles and soft tissues.
