Story
Next month we - Nev Hill and Dino Morra - are going to be doing our evening commute with a difference. On Friday 12 July we'll be cycling from London to Brighton... at night!
If you think that’s a bad idea, you are probably right. As you may well know, neither of us are Tour de France material: our days are spent getting fatter at our desks in the City. And because we've started at a computer screen 12 hours a day for the past 15 years, we can no longer see in the dark. Aside from that, we’ll be fine!
We’re doing this ride to raise money for the Encompass Trust, a charity set up 10 years ago after the Bali bombings in memory of our great friend Daniel Braden, who was killed in the bombings. In Dan's name, Encompass brings hundreds of young people together every years from different backgrounds, faith communities, countries and conflicts in order to build intercultural understanding and to prevent atrocities like the one that killed Dan from happening in the future. (Find out more here www.encompasstrust.org - they are fantastic!)
We're aware there are lots of calls for your support from many great charitable causes. But if you were able to donate a little it would go a very long way to doing a lots of good. And if we beat our fundraising target Nev promises do the ride in the Ginger Spice dress he did last year's Dragon Boat ride in (see photo to come).
