Story
Yoo, hello!
My name is Dean Javed, son of Tariq Javed, who departed on the first day of Ramadan 13.4.2021. 3 months later I was in hospital where I nearly died because my system shut down due to a neurological attack! (Brain inflammation).
I saw red flags for weeks but being a man, I chose not to go A&E until I couldn’t stand anymore. Thinking the classic, I’ll be ok, it will pass…
I couldn’t walk straight or talk normally and I was constantly seeing double which affected my profession of being a self- employed personal trainer and my overall well being 😅
An aggressive round of steroids later (not the ones that make you hench) after going blind in one eye and having a shut down immune system, my vision returned Alhamdulillah. Thankful to God for the strength, I battled my way back to the land of the living.
Without fitness, resilience, a warrior mindset and having a good support system, I don’t think my recovery would have been as successful. I’ve relearned balance and coordination in my movement patterns as I couldn’t balance on one leg for more than 2 seconds. I have fixed myself through research and trials and have had a breakthrough of reducing my symptoms through dry fasting and lifestyle changes
I’m still over a year without full diagnosis but the NHS are saying It’s 95% chance I have MS!
I’m doing this run to help other people who suffer with MS and raise awareness with the slow process and diagnosis and help aid new research to those that are suffering in all stages of MS. I want to give hope and show that with a belief of not being beaten, anything with a leap a faith is possible.
The brain is a powerful thing so watch what you tell it.
Any donations are greatly appreciated thanks in advance
Dean Javed
