Story

We heard the Rockinghorse Charity is struggling to raise money due to lots of its big fundraising events being cancelled because of the Coronavirus.

We really want to help them. We came up with the idea of raising money by organising a fab netball shoot-a-thon. A fun event for us, our team mates, and all netball fans in the area, who are missing their favourite sport whilst in isolation.

On Saturday 11th April at 11am, we challenged netball fans to shoot as many goals as possible in 1 hour.

We have been completely bowled over by the enthusiasm and generosity everyone has shown for our event and the Rockinghorse Charity.

Massive thanks to Pied Piper, Bobbi's netball team. You have all been awesome. Head Coach, Victoria, set the target of 10,000 goals for the club...they scored over 17,000, which is incredible!!!!!! It cost her though, as she very kindly offered to make a £100 donation if they could hit their target. Victoria also set up a Zoom meeting for us all. It was so great to see everyone playing netball and being able to hear everyone shouting out their scores. There were some huge scores, most players scoring 300 or more goals, and several players beat the world record...massive congratulations to Saffron (912), Lily (890), Harriet (841), Lottie (782), Isobel (781), Isabella (747), Yasmine (737) and Lauren (1050)!!!

Enormous thanks also to team NRG. You have all been incredible too!!!! Huge scores from Millie, Belle, Grace T, Emilia, Selina, Kitty & Maisy. Record breaking scores from Maisy (949), Lillie (1085) and Grace F (1132). Massive congratulations and thanks to you all too.

Huge thanks to Brighton Girls school who were 100% behind us and took part and donated so generously! Especially Millie, who creatively removed the middle seat bit from a chair and used the frame as a netball hoop. Over 400 goals scored, amazing!!! The Walkers too, not usually netball fans, but happily gave it their all and achieved a fab score!

We’d like to say a massive thank you to all you awesome netball fans for taking part, and to all the people sponsoring you , and donating to this fabulous local charity. You have raised an astonishing amount which will  make an awesome difference to sick children all over Sussex.

You are all Rockinghorse Heros!
