We are fundraising for the Hull Neonatal Unit Community Support Group, NeoFriends
We are independently fundraising in aid of WISHH, for Hull NICU/NeoFriends Community Support Group.
NeoFriends is a community support group run weekly for any family that has spent any length of time on the Neonatal Unit/Special Care Unit or the Transitional Care Unit in Hull with their baby. We wanted to start a group in our community that is welcoming and is a safe space for our NICU families once they’ve been discharged from the hospital. The idea being that it is somewhere where everyone in the room understands how each other is feeling because they have also been through the experience of having a baby who has needed to spend time on the neonatal unit. Its a fun/supportive group for everyone, a way for parents to meet others, interact with other families and build connections and friendships with others who have shared a similar experience.
One of our Outreach Nurses Sarah who is on the NeoFriends team will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in September with a friend. This has to be completed in under 12 hours and involves hiking 24 miles, climbing Ingleborough (723m), Whernside (736m) and Pen-y-ghent (694m). The money raised will go towards buying equipment/toys etc to make the group as successful as possible and possibly to go towards putting on a Christmas Party for the families to enjoy in December. With some funds the possibilities are endless.
We hope you will support us by donating to our sponsorship page. Thank you in advance for all your donations, no matter how big or small, it all helps x
