Story
Hello!
On 7th October I will be taking part in the 2012 Basingstoke Half Marathon. It may only be a half marathon, but it’s not an easy course – the route description describes the course as “a challenging one, incorporating some legendary hills”. (Hmmm, I do hope that by ‘legendary’ they mean ‘short & gentle’…)
There is a reason for this madness. I will be raising money for Sebastian’s Action Trust, a charity that offers respite holidays to very sick children and their families in the UK's only purpose-built facility, The Bluebells. The holiday home was opened in North Waltham (just west of Basingstoke) just over a year ago. It offers respite breaks to children and their families free of charge, 365 days of the year, and can accommodate two families at a time, each in their own apartment. The trust receives no government funding and relies entirely on fundraising and donations to enable the facility to be run.
Any donations, large or small, will be very welcome and greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Neil
