Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In five years as Katharine House Hospice's volunteer Photographer, I've seen so many fantastic fundraisers giving their all - from brave souls baring their soles at the Firewalk, to sprinting Santas in snow at the Xmas Santa Dash, and Midnight Walk Superheroes in the dead of night. Now it's my turn - I'm putting down the camera and lacing up my running shoes to run the Oxford Half-Marathon for this amazing local charity.
Katharine House provides specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting conditions across North Oxfordshire, South Northamptonshire and South Warwickshire, and I'm running to help them raise the £3m they need annually to meet the needs of the patients and families we care for every year.
This will be a first half-marathon (or any race distance for me) as well, the culmination of a year of weight loss and fitness work. From this time last year, when I weighed 20 stones and could only just walk a mile, to running 13.1 miles on October 17! Signing up to support the Hospice has been a great way of keeping my progress on track, and I'm hoping to finish in a time between 2:10 and 2:30 for the event.
Please donate whatever you can, and help me support Katharine House's valuable work in the area.
