Story
I appreciate you taking the time to read this, in less than five days I will be running the London marathon and raising money for Tourettes action.
As a family, we have been living with Tourettes for many years as our daughter Jessie has had Tics from the age of five and was diagnosed with Tourettes two and a half years ago at the age of seven. It’s been incredibly difficult at times and Tourettes is far from the common misconception of just swearing. We have been dealing with painful tics, intrusive thoughts, OCD behaviours, anxiety and more.
There is practically no help available through the NHS or CAMHS for Tourettes and we have found that Tourettes action offer help, advice and support for families as well as training for school staff, In short this help and guidance has helped us and many others.
Tourettes action is a great charity run with passion, helping families and individuals through dark and difficult times. I’m proud to be able to run the Marathon for Jessie and all affected by Tourettes.
