Story
Hi, this is Neil, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have planned this ride for a little while now and have detailed more about the reasons why I am fund raising for Coffeekids on my blog http://www.exchangecoffee.blogspot.com/. (see 24 March entry for a more detailed description of the whys and wherefores). Please do have a quick read of this before reading on further here. I will be trying to raise as much money for Coffee Kids, and generally raising as much awareness about coffee at source through this bike ride. As my blog entry indicates, coffee is an enormous globally traded product and although the specialty coffee scene in the UK has made great strides in getting information out there about coffee at source, I hope to take this impetus further in the future, and try and generate a much more discerning and informed coffee drinker out there into the bargain. I truly feel that there are a lot more people out there who could make better choices over their coffee drinking if armed with good information about how coffee is sourced, purchased, processed etc etc. I hope you are inspired to contribute towards the great work that Coffee Kids carries out (http://www.coffeekids.org/). Your contributions will be going to help those at the start of the coffee chain and will also help me to try and generate interest in a kind of fresh movement within the specialty coffee scene, and a fresh movement in general, where we can all take a much more active role in helping those people and families on the plantations who do need our help.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please do help the cause by making a kind donation.
Thank you all for your support. I'll be setting off for the ride with my friend Mike who is raising money for the Samaritans on Sunday 23 May!
