Story
Hello there you beautiful people!
As I sit here following the advice and 'staying safe at home' we have chatted as a family about the little things that we could do to show our appreciation for the NHS staff on the front line, along with the many volunteers helping to fight the Covid-19 virus. We chose the NHS Charities Together so that any money raised can go beyond this virus and help some of the smaller charities that will support people that are suffering and effected for long after the lockdown.
Obviously any simple exercise challenge was scoffed at by my wife as not 'epically hard enough!' So, with the support of the 'Pit crew' I'm attempting to ride the length of the country on my cycle trainer at home. Over the course of 9 days I'll be riding a virtual route which covers approximately 980 miles (1577km). During the 9 days of virtual travel, I'll be visiting delightful places such as the kitchen, the utility room and stopping occasionally in the picturesque bathroom. My trainer uses all the latest GPS technology, meaning that it will simulate changes in elevation from Land's End to John o' Groats. Around home schooling, I'm expecting to be on the bike for around 8-10 hours a day??? But who knows! Fingers crossed all the miles will be logged via Strava and the mini Halliday support crew. The miles clocked up should update on this page. I'll also be updating stories, and fun 'school' facts from the virtual places visited via Instagram.

My epically confined journey starts from 6am on Friday 24th of April. It leaves me to say I think this promises to be the toughest challenge I've ever faced, and if you would like to join me and support please donate.
Big love
Neil
