Story

In November 2018 Brentford Football Club lost its Technical Director Robert Rowan.

Robert suffered a fatal cardiomyopathy episode in the early hours of the morning and died at the age of 28. He went to bed the night before and died in his sleep. He left behind his wife Suzanne, who he married in November 2016.

Robert had been Technical Director since February 2018 and had been with Brentford for just short of four years. During that time, he had contributed so much towards the development of our club and had built many strong friendships with staff and players alike.

Robert’s loss has been huge, however in the years that have followed his name has been associated with so many positive initiatives relating, not only to Brentford but to many fund raising activities in support of Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
