Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you may know last year I got roped in by my daughter to run 3 miles for Sport Relief. I thought that was the end of it. That was until I received a Facebook request from Rory asking who wanted to run with him in the British 10k London run on 10th July this year.
After a short calculation as to how far 10k actually was in old money (a fraction over 6 miles for those of us over a certain age) I agreed to take part. I'm really not sure why I did this, but I did!
So, since January I've been trying to run further than the 3 miles I managed last year and I don't mind telling you it's been hard. As you're all probably far to aware, I'm not really designed for running so this is a big thing for me.
To try and give me some extra impetus, I decided to try and raise a little money for charity whilst I'm doing this, and rather than run around with a bucket I thought I'd set up a Just Giving page for the Anthony Nolan trust - admittedly I meant to do this in January but it kind of slipped and slipped and then slipped some more.
I know money is tight for lots of people, and I know you've probably only recently sponsored other people to run much further in the London Marathon, but if you could spare any cash for this worthy cause then that would make my suffering more worthwhile.
I'm putting updates from my training on Facebook if you want to see how the training is going.
