Neil played for a number of football teams around Belper (Belper Sports, Belper Town and Belper United) and during his time at university captained Newcastle University Medics 2nd XI. As a mark of respect for Neil, Belper United FC and Newcastle University Medics 2nd XI have arranged a charity football match to be played on Sunday 12th October at Belper Town Football Club, with all proceeds going to Anthony Nolan.

The match will kick off at 3:30pm and gates will be open from 2pm. 

There will be a voluntary matchday entry fee and special matchday programmes available to purchase, as well as a charity auction and raffle happening after the game- again with all proceeds going to Anthony Nolan.

The two teams will comprise of players that have either played or grown up with Neil, and will be very much representative teams.

On the 6th August, the world not only lost a promising young doctor, but an unbelievable human being and a role model for so many people. He was an immensely popular and remarkable young man, and words cannot describe how much Neil will not only be missed by his family/friends, but also the wider community. So please, if we could get an amazing turnout, for quite simply one of the best people any of us have met, it would be absolutely amazing.

We all miss and love Neil, and want to continue his fundraising to the best of our abilities.
