Having been lucky enough to run in a number of great events over the last 7 years, I wanted to combine my passion for running with an opportunity to raise funds for a great cause: This has now happened as I have been offered a place in this year's London Marathon by MMC's charity partner, Ambitious about Autism. This fantastic charity is succeeding in raising awareness of Autism and helping young people with their educational needs, as well as opportunities in employment. Knowing a number of friends who have children with varying degrees of Autism has given me a personal insight into the challenges involved and some of the misconceptions that people can have about the condition. 

On a personal note, after several attempts, I started my first London Marathon last year after winning a ballot place for my running club, the Coltishall Jaguars. My run was was going to plan until 22.5 miles, when I literally crashed-out and finished in the Royal London Hospital A&E, rather than the finish line on The Mall! So, I have unfinished business this year...
