Story

I was lucky enough to get into the London Marathon via the ballot for 2023 so I decided to make all the training worthwhile and raise funds for two charities which are worthy causes and resonate with me on a personal note.

My Dad has recently been through months of radiotherapy to treat Prostate cancer and is currently in remission, without the research and help of charities like Prostate Cancer UK the ability to treat and care for people with this illness would not be at the level it is.

In November 2022 my older sister was diagnosed with AML Leukemia and without treatment was given 4 - 6 weeks to live, she was transferred to The Christie hospital in Manchester and has undergone her first round of Chemotherapy which worked well and she was in remission before heading into her second round of Chemotherapy. The Christie have been amazing with the treatment and support they provide and are classed as one of the best Cancer hospitals in the UK with our support they will continue to provide world class care to all their patients.

The effort I'm putting in to run the Marathon is nothing compared with those who unluckily end up fighting cancer which is an aggressive illness which requires aggressive treatment - supporting these charities will help some of those people get the best treatment and support, please dig deep if you can.
