Due to the Covid 19 pandemic , Save the Children is facing one of its biggest challenges ever. Across the world, they have reached 11.8 million children, working with government partners such as the World Health Organisation and donors in 88 countries. They have had to adapt and scale up their programmes so that children can continue to be safe, healthy and learning through the pandemic. In Wales too, Save the Children has been working tirelessly to help children suffering from economic hardships as a result of the pandemic in some of our most deprived areas. For this work to be able to continue, Save the Children need our help, having faced a steep fall in revenue due to the pandemic. We, as volunteers throughout Wales, have set ourselves the target of completing the highest and fastest Zip wire in Europe at Zip World ,Bethesda, Snowdonia on Thursday 3rd June. Yn ystod Wythnos Genedlaethol Gwifoddolwyr (1-7 Mehefin) bydd rhai o gefnogwyr pybyr Achub Y Plant yn codi eu hymdrechion codi arian i dir newydd drwy wynebu her gwifren wib gyflymaf y byd. Bydd 30 o wirfoddolwyr yn gwibio dros hen Chwarel Lechi y Penrhyn ym Methesda fel rhan o weithgarwch antur Zip World ar y 3ydd o Fehefin, gan obeithio y bydd eu mentergarwch yn codi miloedd o bunoedd ar gyfer gwaith elusen yn helpu plant a theuluoedd sydd wedi eu heffeithio gan y pandemig. Ers dyddiau cynnar y pandemig, mae Achub y Plant wedi cefnogi 11.8 miliwn o blant gan addasu a chynyddu eu rhaglenni fel y gall plant barhau i fod yn ddiogel ac i gael eu haddysgu. Mae plant yma yng Nghymru hefyd wedi eu heffeithio gan y pandemig ac mae’r elusen wedi bod yn cynnig grantiau argwyfwng i deuluoedd yn cynnwys talebau bwyd, hanfodion ar gyfer y cartref a gliniaduron a thabledi er mwyn hwyluso gyda’u gwaith ysgol. Ni fyddai’r gwaith yma wedi bod yn bosib onibai bod gwirfoddolwyr ar draws Cymru wedi parhau i godi arian ac ymwybyddiaeth o waith yr elsuen yn wyneb yr holl heriau a rhywystrau oedd yn bodoli oherwydd y pandemig. Wnewch chi eu helpu nhw drwy gyfrannu ? Bydd eich arian yn sicrhau bod gwaith Achub y Plant yn parhau i helpu plant ledled y byd ac yma yng Nghymru. Diolch yn fawr.
