Story
My brother Mitul is doing this run in Memory of our Late beloved mum - Neeta Nalin Shah who sadly passed away on 24th January 2021 and our beloved aunty Pamie Albert Shaw who passed away on 4th November 2021.
Our mum was an unique person, she was well known for her food and hospitality. Whoever came to our house would not be allowed to leave without eating something. She was very strong both mentality and physical, as has ran the house on her own without us noticing anything. She was courageous, plus known for her good nature and welcoming heart. She was an admirable woman and always putting others before herself.
Unfortunately our mum in 2008 was diagnosed with a rare illness which was called "Goods Syndrome" Good's Syndrome is a rare condition in which thymoma is associated with hypogammagloculinemia. It is characterized by increased susceptibility to bacterial, viral and fungal infections, as well as autoimmunity.
Our aunty was full of life, she had a heart of gold and loved to treat her grandkids, spoiling them. She always use to catch with up with everyone and give everyone a little bit of her little to make them feel so special. She lived for others, always helping others first before herself. Unfortunately late October she caught covid, despite her trying her best to fight it, it eventually got the better of her and leaving a big void in all our lives.
The charity where money raised will go to makes the most of every last penny and is very grateful for the support and generosity of their donors and the tireless efforts of fundraising volunteers and supporters who give their time and effort to help them. Their Heart and Lung Fund supports the care of our cardiology, coronary care patients and all respiratory services. The fund buys new equipment and the new Cardiology Catheter Discharge Lounge that opened in January 2018 was built entirely with charitable funds.
