Story
For those who know me, I was blessed with my second daughter who was born on 31st July 2020 at the William Harvey Hospital during the COVID pandemic. I was so well looked after by the whole team on Labour ward and now would like to do something in return for the Hospital.
Therefore I am fundraising for the Padua Ward, one of the children’s wards in East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) and is located at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent. They run a campaign called ‘Child Health’, which covers all of their children’s services across the trust. It’s a really busy ward, and provides care for children all across the East Kent area, from the ages of 0-18.
COVID19 has had a real impact upon Padua Ward. Previously, they had lovely big playrooms which the children could access for play and play therapy, when on the ward. As a result of their infection control procedures, they have had to get rid of all of the toys and facilities in the playrooms, and are now only able to offer ‘single use’ toys for children on Padua Ward, which they can have for the duration of their stay and take home with them. This poses a challenge, it’s really difficult for us to accept toys from our communities as they have to be so strict about infection control.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated, big or small, to ease the strain on the Padua Ward and bring some smiles to these children.
Money raised will go towards toys and any necessary equipment for the Ward.
