Story
This year I will be taking on my biggest challenge yet and running London Marathon in memory of my Grandad - Stan Briggs who passed away in 1998. My Grandad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. In the absence of having a father around my Grandad was the man who picked me up from school, played with me and would tell me his many stories of when he served in the RAF. He was an amazing man, he was kind hearted, generous and always had a smile on his face and a cup of tea in his hand. It was difficult to see such a person who had so much personality have his identity taken away from him by this awful debilitating disease. Anyone who has had a loved one who has suffered with Alzheimer's Disease knows who heart breaking and traumatic it can be. My aim in doing the London Marathon is to raise as much money as I can for this very worthy cause so they can continue to support families and those who are having to live with Alzheimer's Disease.
Anything you can give would be very much appreciated, no matter how large or small, and I know will give me the motivation to keep going out and doing the early morning runs for training and will get me over that finish line on the 24th April 2016.
