Story
An exciting (and daunting!) 2008!
We will be heading out as part of Act 4 Africa to Dar es Salaam to train trainers from the various regions of Tanzania in HIV and AIDS prevention education. We will be spending the first 3 months leading a small team from the UK delivering programmes in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Tanzania, and then the 2 of us will be based in Dar es Salaam for the rest of the year.
Currently, there is no national programme to deliver a consistent HIV/ AIDS message with facts about transmission and the effects of stigmatisation. By training people from the different regions, teams can be set up throughout the country to reach schools and communities with this vital information. The aim is to reduce stigma, tackle gender issues and change behaviour in order to have some chance of halting this pandemic.
Please support us in this vital work, any donation, no matter how small will make a real difference and will be much appreciated. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support us because if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
