The Covid-19 crisis is having an alarming impact on domestic abuse with increases in incidents being reported in UK everyday. The shocking numbers and reports only reflect the known and reported cases. Meanwhile, many more survivors find themselves more isolated, less able to access support, and experiencing higher risk of serious harm than ever before. We know you agree that this is a crucial time to ensure survivors know where and how they can reach support. Now more than ever, they need to know that help is at hand and that theyre not alone.Previous figures have sadly shown that domestic violence occurrences rose by around 38% nationally on the days when England lost, and 26% when the team won or drew a match.Together we can make sure support remains available in new and innovative ways, that key workers are supported to help keep families safe, and that were ready to support adults children and young people in moving forwards when this is over.
