NBKA Bees Abroad Christmas 2020, 21 November 2020
Over 21 years, we have touched the lives of 50,000 people. Beekeeping can increase income by 20% and crop pollination by 100%. We provide practical training to enable communities in the poorest parts of the world to build sustainable livelihoods.

Story

Bees Abroad is funding and delivering the beekeeping project that is part of the wider nutritional programme being run by our partner Rory's Well

Bees Abroad has 40 live projects, currently running in 12 countries and across three continents, all of which are aimed at relieving poverty through beekeeping. This small UK charity is celebrating its 21st year and is still hard at work!

Neil Brent from Bees Abroad is a volunteer beekeeper who has helped to provide training and the setting up of 400 hives in a remote rural community in the Sierra Leone rainforest. The focus now is to work on the honey processing aspect of the enterprise, getting the honey and other hive products packaged, ready for sale and to market.

My name is Anne and I am a fundraiser for Bees Abroad and during 2020 I have been raising money for this project. I am a member of the Nottinghamshire Beekeepers Association (NBKA) and instead of our usual Christmas raffle I am asking people to donate to Just Giving instead. Many thanks on behalf of Bees Abroad and the rural community who will benefit from your support!
