Story
In September 2022 I undertook the biggest challenge of my life so far, climbing the world's tallest freestanding mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro.
This life-changing 7-day challenge was both emotionally draining and physically exhausting and after returning home, having made some incredible new friends for life and some unforgettable memories, I quickly started thinking about what my next challenge could be.
The motivation for climbing Kilimanjaro stemmed from a close affiliation with the MS Society, an organisation that provides support and guidance for around 130,000 MS patients in the UK as well as funding world-leading research with the clear objective, to stop MS.
I’m pleased to report that i managed to raise over £10,000 for the charity and this sense of achievement, and the desire to push myself to new limits has led me to my next, and even bigger adventure… “Why not Mount Everest”?
Fast forward to September 2023 when I will again be heading off for an even bigger challenge, this time travelling to the Himalayan mountains to take on Everest Base Camp with fellow Kilimanjaro buddies.
Towering to a height of 5364 meters, this snow-covered 12-day climb will provide an even greater level of difficulty and complexity than what I faced on Kilimanjaro as well as freezing temperatures! Sadly, I won’t quite be going all the way to the very top of Everest as I can’t be away from my girls Ella and Holly for a minimum of two months which is the approximate time required to reach the summit.
Once again, I am raising money for the MS Society, a charity so very dear to me. So, please dig deep and help me achieve my goal of £5,000 to enable this incredible organisation to help change lives. There will be loads of exciting fundraising in the months ahead so stay tuned for updates!
