Story
We have all been horrified by Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and the heart-breaking scenes resulting from his bombardment of the country’s cities and their inhabitants. We can only hope that peace will be restored as soon as possible. Naturetrek has already made large donations to both Unicef and the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), but we would like to invite you to help us to raise more.
On Sunday 3rd April, please join our staff on a ‘fundraising Wildlife-watch’ by heading outside to your local patch or nature reserve to try to see as many species of bird, mammal and butterfly as possible. From Cheltenham to Hampshire’s coastal marshes, all of us at Naturetrek will be scanning our local wildlife hotspots and keeping a record of what we see. Please do join us and do the same! Then, on Monday 4th April, after we have collated and published a combined list of the species recorded by Naturetrek staff, we will ask you to send us a list of any additional species that you saw during the course of the day so that a final tally of species UK-wide can be produced. It should be an impressive list!
The primary aim of the day, of course, will be to raise funds in aid of the Ukrainian people affected by war, so please do make a donation through our JustGiving page.
