Story
On April 01, we're walking 40km for wildlife, following a route which will take in Local Nature Reserves, National Nature Reserves, Sites of Special Scientific Interest, Country Parks and one of the highest points in the West Midlands! We're passionate about our region's green spaces and we're challenging ourselves to complete this walk in order to help raise money and awareness to promote and protect them. And we won't just walk! Along the way we'll record any notable species, take photographs and videos and share everything we see in a blog, to let as many people as possible know just what a wonderful wild world there is to be found on their doorsteps.
We each joined the Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country six months ago, as trainees on their Natural Prospects programme, all of us hoping to commit our working lives to careers in the conservation sector. We could not be more proud to work for the organisation, or of the work that it does for wildlife and green spaces in the region we call home. They have been champions for wildlife for 40 years now, and we hope to help them raise money to carry on their work for another 40 years and more. So please help us to help them by donating to our challenge, and more than anything else, remember to get out and find your local green spaces, and love them for everything they're worth.
Thank you!
