Story
NATS' Airports team are taking on the challenge of climbing the tallest peaks in each of its five territories (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Gibraltar).
Aerobility was founded in 1993 and offers disabled people the opportunity to fly an aeroplane. They aim to offer flying lessons to as many terminally ill and disabled people as possible, as well as providing at-cost flight training to disabled people. Each year, they take to the skies with up to 1000 individuals. Aerobility has been one of NATS' chosen corporate charities since 2012 and remains one of Aerobility's longest standing supporters.
In celebration of this 10-year partnership, NATS' Airports team are hoping to raise £15,367.00 for Aerobility. This is the equivalent of:
- Funding 12 scholarships which introduce someone with disability to the magic of flight for the first time; or
- Placing 35 young people on Aerobility's 9 month Aviation Education Programme, introducing young people to various aspects of aviation including air traffic control, airport operations and safety; or
- Placing 13 students on Aerobility's Junior Aspiring Pilots Programme which provides ground school training and the opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice by taking to the skies.
