Story
In May 2022, I will climb Mt. Rainier with a team of Amazon coworkers to raise awareness and funds for critical park projects as part of Washington’s National Park Fund Climb for a Cause campaign.
Ever since I moved to Seattle and first caught a glimpse of Mt. Rainier, I was captivated by its presence—looming over the city, dominating the landscape. (Fun fact: it has this effect on people because it is the most topographically prominent mountain in the contiguous US.) At that moment, I knew I wanted to get up there. See for proof the picture above of my wife and I scouting Rainier.
However, if everyone (now and in future generations) is to have an opportunity to experience the sheer beauty of Rainier and the Pacific Northwest’s National parks, we should preserve them. This is, in no small part, funded by people’s generosity.
Through our donations, Washington’s National Park Fund protects our landscapes—they help preserve glaciers, buy equipment for Rangers, conduct habitat studies, fund tree planting and facility repair, promote outreach through community and family groups so that all can enjoy the mountains, and more! Important too, albeit more prosaic: they collect visitor statistics which drive federal budgets.
Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. Thank you in advance for your generosity. It means a lot to the many who will get to see and walk National Parks thanks to you!
The more people that know about the Fund, the greater their impact, so please share my page with your friends and family.
