Become supports vulnerable children in the care system to help them fulfil their potential. In the UK there are ~100,000 children in care as a result of family circumstances through no fault of their own. Each year ~10,000 are put into housing at the age of 18 and have to fend for themselves. Without a family support structure, many care-experienced young people struggle with life's challenges and have been hit particularly hard by the effects of the pandemic. Calls to BECOME's Care Advice Line have doubled since the beginning of 2020. We want to support this service to support as many care leavers as possible and to help them fulfil their potential.
