I have entered a 10k run at just six weeks’ notice having had no experience of training or running regularly before - this can only end well! The Run Chester Zoo event is a 10k run which starts and ends inside the zoo, using the roads in the surrounding area of the zoo, and is capped to last 90 minutes (though I hope to finish well before 90 minutes!).

I have decided to raise vital funds for the Chester FC Community Trust - a registered charity separate from the football club which relies on grants and donations to undertake their incredible work in the community in using sport to improve the health and well-being of all kinds of people young and old in Chester and the surrounding area. Their activities include education on healthy lifestyle to primary school children, inclusive pan-Disability and Mental Health football sessions and Walking Football which all form part of the Trust’s dedication to social inclusion irrespective of a persons background.
